Newton Investment Management cuts its stake in Plus500 to 4.55%

Today brought another piece of news about a transaction with shares in Plus500 Ltd (LON:PLUS), as investment boutique Newton Investment Management Ltd has reduced the size of its interest in the CFD broker.

A transaction dated March 27, 2015, saw Newton Investment Management Ltd sell 676,284 shares in the broker, thus reducing its shareholding in Plus500 to 5,223,410 shares. This means that the investment manager now holds a stake of 4.55% in the brokerage. Newton Investment holds the shares in Plus500 as a discretionary fund manager.

The share sale comes about two months after Newton Investment Management acquired a 5.1% stake in the broker. Led by CEO Helena Morrissey CBE, one of the most influential women in the European finance industry, Newton Investment Management has approximately £51 billion of assets under management.

Shares in Plus500 traded in the range 684.00p – 688.00p on Monday.
