Interactive Brokers redesigns website, updates TWS platform

Spring mood has engulfed Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:IBKR), one of the major Forex brokers in the United States, with the company set to launch a redesigned website, whereas a raft of improvements have been introduced to its TWS platform and a double-digit number of companies have joined its research providers list over the past couple of months.

The company says we should watch out for its new website, which will welcome all of its clients and partners. That is right – the Individual and Institutional websites will finally be united.

This change exhibits one of the key aims the redesign is pursuing – simplicity. Most of the content that was mainly serving to crowd the website will be gone, thus paving the way for a crucial component of website design nowadays – mobile friendliness. The new website will be friendly to all sorts of devices, from desktop computers to mobile gadgets.

Interactive Brokers is the latest FX broker to redesign its website, a trend that LeapRate has forecast will gather pace in 2015.

The past several months saw Interactive Brokers boost their lineup of research providers: there are 12 additions to the list.

The spring mood comes along with improvements to the broker’s proprietary platform TWS.

The latest raft of updates include the addition of continuous futures contracts. When traders add futures market data to a watchlist or trading page, they can select a continuous futures contract to avoid the obligation to manually roll or re-enter expiring contracts.

Several new Fundamentals Tear Sheets have become available:

  • Analyst (Summary) – it offers (amid everything else) summary rating, as well as price target statistics and upgrade/downgrade history.
  • Ownership – supplies detailed institutional and insider ownership rosters with a graph of ownership percentage over time, and an insider trade log.
  • Short Interest – Graphs short interest as a percent of float, days short, or shares short.

The Risk Navigator is also beefed up. The improvements include the launch of a Report Designer, which enables traders to configure all reports from a single window. The Trader Personalities feature allows first-time Risk Navigator users to pick a trading personality, which sets default columns for relevant reports.

Of course, there cannot be an update to TWS without some extra Chart Indicators. The latest additions are 25, including the Relative Vigor Index, Klinger Oscillator, McGinley Dynamic, Volume Weighted Moving Average, Bill Williams Alligator and Zigzag.

There is more news about Interactive Brokers coming soon. The company will be reporting its financial metrics for the first quarter of 2015 tomorrow, so stay tuned as LeapRate will keep you updated.
