CBOE Holdings’ trading volumes drop 17% MoM in September 2015

CBOE Holdings, Inc (NASDAQ:CBOE), the holding company for Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), C2 Options Exchange (C2), CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE), and other subsidiaries, has just reported its operating metrics for September 2015, with the numbers failing to match the achievements seen in record-setting August.

The total trading volume in September 2015 for options contracts on CBOE, C2 and CFE was 104 million contracts, a drop of 5% from September 2014 and a drop of 17% from August 2015.

Total options and futures average daily volume (ADV) at CBOE Holdings for September was 5 million contracts, a decrease of 5% from September 2014 and a decrease of 17% from August 2015.

CBOE Volume: September 2015

CBOE’s ADV for the month was 4.4 million contracts, a drop of 5% from September 2014 and a drop of 17% from August 2015. Trading volume totaled 92.6 million contracts, down 5% in annual and 17% in monthly terms.

C2 Volume: September 2015

C2’s September trading volume totaled 6.2 million contracts, marking a drop of 19% from September 2014 and a drop of 21% from August 2015. ADV was 293,704 contracts, a decrease of 19% from September 2014 and 21% from August 2015.

CFE Volume: September 2015

Total ADV at CFE was 251,376 contracts in September, a rise of 40% from September 2014. However, the result was 18% lower than in August 2015. Total volume at CFE for the month was 5.3 million contracts, up 40% from the year-ago total and down 18% from August 2015.
