Playtech shareholders approve acquisition of AvaTrade

The results of the Extraordinary General Meeting of shareholders of gaming technology company Playtech PLC (LON:PTEC) are out. The meeting was organized over a vote on the proposed $105 million acquisition of retail Forex broker AvaTrade.

An overwhelming majority of the votes – 99.99%, were cast in favor of the deal, which will see Playtech enhance further its online trading business. The company had already gotten a nod of approval over another important deal concerning online trading – the acquisition of Plus500 Ltd (LON:PLUS).

Completion of AvaTrade’s acquisition remains subject to certain conditions but is expected to be finalized no later than September 30, 2015.
