Brian Ho, Keith Lui secure another term as exec directors at Hong Kong’s SFC

Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) today announced that Mr Brian Ho and Mr Keith Lui have been re-appointed as its executive directors. The Financial Secretary has decided to award each of them another three-year term in the top roles, effective from August 28, 2015.

“I am pleased with the Financial Secretary’s decision to re-appoint Brian and Keith, both of whom have served the SFC for over two decades and have made significant contributions to the SFC. I look forward to continuing working with them closely in their new term,” the SFC’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ashley Alder said.

Mr Ho and Mr Lui are at present executive directors of the SFC’s Corporate Finance Division and Supervision of Markets Division respectively, and were first appointed to their current positions in 2006.

Brian Ho

Mr Ho has been working in the SFC for more than 18 years. Before joining the SFC, Mr Ho was a solicitor in Hong Kong.

Mr Ho also sits on the Public Shareholders Group (Chairman), the Nominations Committee, Committee on Real Estate Investment Trusts, the Advisory Committee and the Executive Committee of the SFC, and the Listing Nominating Committee of the Stock Exchange.

Keith Lui

Mr Keith Lui has been working in the SFC for over 15 years and has extensive knowledge and experience in the supervision of the securities and futures markets. Prior to joining the SFC, he worked in financial institutions in the US.

Mr Lui also sits on the Risk Management Committee of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, the Securities Compensation Fund Committee (Chairman), the Investor Compensation Fund Committee (Chairman), the SFC (HKEC Listing) Committee, the Advisory Committee, the Executive Committee and Investment Committee. He is also a director of the Investor Compensation Company Limited.
