Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX:S68) has earlier today alerted its members and traders of problems plaguing the work of the derivatives market.
Trading on SGX’s derivatives market was interrupted for more than hour. The trading was halted at 22:00h (local time, GMT+8:00) and resumed later at 23:15h. The problems did not affect the closing time of the market.
The Exchange did not state any particular causes for the outage but apologized for the inconvenience.
The Singapore Exchange is not the only marketplace to report derivatives trading problems now and then. Moscow Exchange, or Moskovskaya Birzha MMVB-RTS PAO (MCX:MOEX), Russia’s biggest trading venue for currencies, shares and derivatives, has lately suffered several such interruptions. The latest happened on October 15, 2015 and saw derivatives trading on the Exchange halted for nearly an hour.
