After a challenging October for futures trading activity at the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), trading volumes staged a nice rise in November 2015, as shown by ASX’s latest monthly activity report.
In November 2015, futures and options on futures volume rose 2.5% from October 2015 levels to 9,585,567 contracts. The result is 35% higher than the one registered in November 2014.
Futures volumes amounted to 9,398,893 contracts in November 2015, up 2.3% month-on-month. The rise in annual terms was far more impressive, at 36%.
Options on futures volumes reached 186,674 contracts in November 2015, up 12.95% month-on-month, but down 9% from November 2014 levels.
