Forex trade body FXPA names new Chair, Vice Chair

The Foreign Exchange Professionals Association (FXPA), a Forex trade body that started its operations in September 2014, has named a new Chair and Vice Chair and has announced new additions to its Board of Directors.

The FXPA announces the election of Chip Lowry, Senior Managing Director of State Street Global Markets, as Chair, and Jill Sigelbaum, EVP and Global Head of Foreign Exchange at Traiana, as Vice Chair.

Lowry succeeds outgoing Chair Eric Busay, who was a Senior Portfolio Manager at CalPERS, while Sigelbaum succeeds Adam Cooper, Senior Managing Director and Chief Legal Officer at Citadel LLC. Busay and Cooper played a key role in leading FXPA through its inception and successful launch.

“Under the leadership of Adam Cooper and Eric Busay, the FXPA has established itself as an important voice in the industry conversation. We look forward to building on that success,” says Lowry.

“Traiana joined FXPA at inception to support this unique industry group, which provides a 360-degree view of the FX industry through its diverse membership. I look forward to working with Chip, Sean and Bill as well as the new board, as we grow the organization during its second year,” adds Sigelbaum.

Nine candidates have secured FXPA’s approval to join the 2016 Board of Directors. In addition to Lowry and Sigelbaum, these include:

  • Jonathon O’Donnell, Investment Officer, CalPERS;
  • Philip Harris, Head of EBS Markets, EBS BrokerTec;
  • Dmitri Galinov, CEO, FastMatch;
  • Igor Marich, MD, FX and MM, Moscow Exchange;
  • Jodi Burns, Global Head of Regulation & Post-Trade, FX, Thomson Reuters;
  • KC Lam, Director, International Sales, Singapore Exchange;

FXPA Officers Sean Tully, Senior Managing Director, Financial and OTC Products, CME Group, and Bill Goodbody, Senior Vice President, FX, BATS Global Markets, keep their roles as Treasurer and Secretary, respectively.
