Shares of online spreadbetting and financial trading firm IG Group Holdings plc (LON:IGG) rose 6% Tuesday after the company announced stellar summary results for its fiscal third quarter (IG has a May 31 year end).
Revenues at IG came in at £122 million for the quarter ended Feb 29, handily beating the company’s previous best of £112 million in Q2-2015.
IG reported strong growth in all major geographic regions, including its home UK market – up 13% over last year Q3 – where IG earns nearly half of its revenue and income.
In response, IG’s shares traded up steadily during Tuesday’s session. By end of day IG’s shares were above £8 for the first time since the end of 2015, and at their £8.03 closing price IG shares are nearing their all time high of £8.14 set last summer.
