CME Group registers 15.5% MoM drop in FX volumes in April 2016

International derivatives marketplace CME Group Inc (NASDAQ:CME) has just published its volumes metrics for April 2016, with Forex volumes continuing the downward trend exhibited in March 2016.

CME Group reported FX average daily volume (ADV) of 771,000 contracts for April 2016, a reading that is 15.5% down from the reading of 912,000 contracts reported for March 2016. The ADV in April 2016 was down 8% from the ADV in April 2015.

Overall volume averaged 13.8 million contracts per day in April 2016, marking a rise of 21% from April 2015. CME Group April 2016 options volume averaged 2.6 million contracts per day, up 15% from April 2015.

Agricultural volume averaged a record 1.9 million contracts per day in April 2016, up 52% from April 2015.
