TradeNext returning funds as co-owner arrested; ETX and Dukascopy revenues soar; Shift Forex opening Israel branch – Forex Weekly Look Back

Last week in FX industry news on LeapRate we saw two brokerage houses report strong results. First off, ETX Capital, where reports showed deposits rose at ETX by 23% during 2014 as the CFD, Forex and Spread betting broker continued to grow outside its home UK market. Moreover, globally minded Swiss based broker Dukascopy reported first half 2015 income of CHF 17 million ($17.46 million), up 52% than a year earlier.

Also last week the forex world saw volumes report strong results as August trading surpassed July on many venues and across many brokerages, some saw their best results since January which was the month of the Swiss Franc spike induced volatility. Volatility was enough reason for the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange to hike margins on a variety of different assets, including doubling margin on WTI Oil contracts. All of the initial volume reports from August you can check out below.

Another interesting story last week LeapRate learned that Jagjit Singh, a co-owner and Director of FCA-regulated retail forex broker TradeNext, had been arrested in India on swindling charges surrounding another of his retail financial businesses called Crown Credit Cooperative Society…
