Barclays PLC (LON:BARC) has earlier today announced that its CEO designate James (Jes) Staley has bought into the company.
Via a transaction that took place on November 4, 2015, Jes Staley purchased 2,790,000 ordinary shares in the company. The nominal value per share is 25 pence. The average market price of the Shares was £2.3300 per share and the place of trading was the London Stock Exchange.
Following the transaction, Mr Staley holds 2,790,000 ordinary shares in Barclays.
Mr Staley, who has nearly 40 years of experience in banking and financial services, will assume the role of Group CEO and will join the Barclays Boards as a Director, with effect from December 1, 2015. He succeeds Antony Jenkins, who was ousted in July this year.
