A quick note as today we learned from the latest SEC filings Form 4 that Samantha Roady, President of the Retail business at GAIN Capital (NYSE: GCAP) unloaded 20,000 shares at $7.00 a pop. The trade on the date of the transaction, April 20th, cashed out $140,000 in total. As of now, Samantha Roady now owns 220,795 shares in total,worth about $1.5 million at today’s prices ($6.92).
As of market close on Friday April 22nd, Gain Capital shares are down 14.67% YTD but have recently bounced off their lows for the year of $5.75 seen on March 29th.
As far as Gain Capital’s main competitor, FXCM…their shares have not fared well this year either down 24.75% YTD. (see comparison chart below, Courtesy: Google Finance).
