In May 2016, the Swiss online brokerage leader Swissquote Group Holding SA (SWX:SQN)’s Board of Directors announced at the Annual General Meeting that it intended to expand the company’s Executive Management. In order to adapt the organization to suit the development of its business activities, the Board of Directors decided to increase the number of Executive Management members from three to five. In doing so, Swissquote is focusing on continuity by appointing two long-term directors with effect from January 2017, naming Morgan Lavanchy as Chief Legal Officer and Gilles Chantrier as Chief Risk Officer.
They will join the current Executive Management composed of the founders Marc Bürki (CEO) and Paolo Buzzi (CTO) as well as of Michael Ploog (CFO).
Morgan Lavanchy is a Swiss national. He holds a Master in Law from Neuchâtel University and a Master of Advanced Studies (LL.M.) in Business Law from Lausanne and Geneva Universities. He has spent his entire career with Swissquote, joining the company in 2003 and most recently serving as Head of Legal & Compliance.
Gilles Chantrier is a Swiss and French national. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from HEG Lausanne. He began his career with Swissquote in 2000 and most recently held the post of Head of Controlling & Risk.
