The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) has just warned investors that HQBroker is not registered to sell securities in Ontario.
HQBroker manages the website hqbroker.com, where it claims to offer a variety of trading solutions to retail and institutional investors through contracts for difference, derivatives and forex currency pairs.
The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong and the FCA have recently issued investor warnings about HQBroker.
HQBroker is actively soliciting Ontarians using an Ontario phone number.
The mandate of the OSC is to provide protection to investors from unfair, improper or fraudulent practices, to foster fair and efficient capital markets and confidence in the capital markets, and to contribute to the stability of the financial system and the reduction of systemic risk.
Investors are urged to check the registration of any persons or company offering an investment opportunity and to review the OSC investor materials available here.
