In a statement, Duffy said Dennis will be tasked with driving robust growth of its interest rates business, which thrived in Q2 following a 14% increase in revenue. He added:
As a former trader himself, Mike’s deep trading, clearing and prime brokerage knowledge, as well as his hands-on markets experience, will bring a unique perspective to this role that will benefit our clients and our organization.
That experience dates back to 2002 when Dennis joined JP Morgan Chase Chicago. He has since secured several promotions and was recently the brains behind the launch of ABN AMRO’s successful fixed-income clearing and repo scheme for cash treasuries. Dennis previously attended Marquette University, where he earned a B.S. in finance.
Dennis will now call on his expertise to oversee the most actively traded global benchmarks, futures and options at CME Group. The contracts include a range of time-stamped bonds and notes, which play a vital role in empowering investors to manage risks across the yield curve. Dennis will work alongside Tim McCourt, who will manage CME Group’s other financial business lines.
