On Wednesday, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) announced the launch of its HKEX Data Marketplace, a web-based platform designed to provide users with access to HKEX’s historical and reference data.
HKEX Launches Data Marketplace
The platform is said to feature a modern and intuitive user experience, featuring multiple data delivery options such as cloud transfer for enhanced convenience.
HKEX said that in its initial phase, the Data Marketplace will provide shareholding data from the Central Clearing and Settlement System (CCASS) for commercial use.
In addition, it will offer historical full book data from HKEX’s securities and derivatives markets, and daily non-trading reference data from the securities market.
Bonnie Y Chan, Chief Executive Officer of HKEX, said: “Investors globally are looking for richer and more insightful data to help inform their investment strategies, and we at HKEX are fully committed to supporting them throughout their investment journey. We are therefore delighted to be launching the HKEX Data Marketplace, providing clients with value-added services from our universe of comprehensive proprietary market data, further enhancing the vibrancy and attractiveness of Hong Kong’s financial markets.”
Looking ahead, HKEX said it plans to progressively expand the platform’s offerings by adding tools for data customisation, additional delivery options, and more data products.
A Chinese interface is also scheduled for release in the first half of 2025, catering to the evolving needs of global investors.
