The Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc. (TOCOM) has announced that their new Technically Specified Rubber (TSR) futures contracts will list on October 9, 2018 after receiving regulatory approval from the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry today.
TSR is a class of natural rubber and, along with Ribbed Smoked Sheet (RSS), are key components in automobile tire production. In recent years, TSR has exceeded RSS in both production and consumption. Adding TSR futures to trade alongside RSS is TOCOM’s response to changing market demand. The Exchange continually looks to improve its Rubber market and expand its presence in the rubber community around the world.
TOCOM will hold a celebration for the listing with Mr. Choltisak Chawpaknum, Minister-Counsellor (Agriculture) of the Royal Thai Embassy at the exchange headquarters in Tokyo as well as the officers of numerous rubber industry associations.
