Cyprus financial regulator CySEC has just made an announcement regarding the renewal of the registrations of Certified Persons in the Public Register.
The regulator has recently become a member of the Mediterranean Partnership of Securities Regulators.
The announcement reads as follows:
In accordance with paragraph 17(1) of the Directive regarding the Certification of Persons and the Certification Registers (174(I)/2015) (the “Directive”), the persons registered in the public register must renew their registration by the end of February each year.
In accordance with paragraph 17(2) of the Directive, in order to renew their registration in the Public Register, Certified Persons must:
(a) Have completed by the end of 2018, continued professional training on topics that fall within the relevant legislation which applies to them and which relate directly to the duties, which they will undertake as part of their certification, of a duration of:
- ten (10) hours for persons registered in the public register for the basic examination
- fifteen (15) hours for persons registered in the public register for the advanced examination
- fifteen (15) hours for persons registered in the public register for the compliance officers.
(b) Pay to CySEC the annual renewal fee of eighty euro (€80).
