ATFX Broker Review

ATFX (UK), is an FX / CFD broker that was founded in 2017. The company is headquartered in the City of London and is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The company ensures that client funds are held in segregated accounts, separate from its own capital. The group AT Global Markets (UK) is also a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), this covers eligible investments of up to £85,000 per person, per firm. 

ATFX broker states that it can operate an ECN (electronic communications network) model, using STP (straight-through processing) technology, without any dealing desk interference. However, they do reserve the right to act as a market maker in certain circumstances. The company offers over 200 financial instruments to trade with including forex and CFDs in indices, commodities, cryptocurrencies, and shares.

ATFX Account Types review

There are three main account types to choose from with ATFX: a Standard account, Edge account, and a Premium account.

The Standard account requires a minimum of £$? 500 and offers a minimum spread on the benchmark EUR/USD currency pair of 1.0pips.

The Edge account requires a minimum deposit of £$? 5000 offering a minimum spread on the benchmark EUR/USD currency pair of 0.6 pips.

ATFX’s Premium account requires a deposit of £$? 10,000 and offers a minimum spread on the benchmark EUR/USD currency pair of 0.0 pips, with a commission charged of $25 per mio per side. 

For traders with experience and who meet a certain criteria the broker also offers a professional account. This account allows traders to trade on all instruments with higher leverage as long as they meet the threshold to qualify as an elective professional, (evidence will be required when applying). 

Leverage

The maximum leverage offered on all three of the main retail account types is 30:1 and the minimum trade size for FX is a micro lot (0.01 full lots). ATFX also provides its customers with negative balance protection, and allows both scalping and hedging, unlike many other brokers.

ATFX Trading Platforms

ATFX presents the MT4 platform, which is the most popular and widely used trading platform within the FX/CFD industry. The platform has the capability to be used as a web-based platform through a web-based browser, and as an application on smartphones and tablets. A demo account is available with ATFX, which is typical with nearly all Forex and CFD brokers.

ATFX provides CFDs in US Stocks, Spain Stocks, German Stocks, and more recently they have added UK Stocks.

Features review

The most notable features of ATFX are that they offer decent liquidity, competitive spreads, and award-winning customer service.  Scalping is allowed, and automated trading is possible, as already noted. The company also offers the opportunity for clients to trade on raw spreads paired with free VPS. However, this is also subject to account type.  

Trading Tools

ATFX offers a variety of trading tools to help clients make the best of their open positions. Unlimited access is given to Trading Central (subject to account type), providing clients with an unbiased customisable view of the markets, spanning over 8,000 financial instruments. Clients can also use trading signals to meet their goals; this includes the long and short entry/exit signals, slow and fast price indicators, raw and smooth signal lines, and slow and fast oscillators.

No Commission 

With certain account types, ATFX does not charge a commission on the profit or loss of traders. The standard and edge account both don’t charge commission while still offering competitive spreads. With these accounts, you will also have a dedicated account manager.

Deposits/Withdrawals

Depositing funds into an ATFX account is an easy and secure process. Funding can be done using credit cards, debit cards, or wire transfer, as well as electronic payment methods such as Skrill and Neteller. Withdrawals can be made using the same available mechanisms. ATFX does not impose any minimum requirements on deposits or withdrawals, but the payment channels themselves may do so.
