Abu Dhabi based global investment and trading firm ADS Securities LLC (ADSS) has announced that it will be continuing and expanding its successful motorsport sponsorship program in 2018.
For the last five years ADSS has supported the successful single-seater racing career of the highly talented Swiss driver, Louis Delétraz. Having worked with Louis since his karting days, ADSS said that it is proud to support him in his second FIA Formula 2 championship season. The series is considered the ideal preparation for, and the ultimate stepping stone, into Formula 1, a shared goal of Louis and ADSS.
For the 2018 season, ADSS has also become a sponsor of the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA), opening a new partnership and chapter in the firm’s pursuit of promoting talent globally. The FDA handpicks talented young professional motor racing drivers providing them with holistic training which focuses not only on driving technique but also their physical, mental and personal development. An emphasis is also put on developing the drivers’ readiness for the ever more important media, sponsorship and business aspects of the sport.
Commenting on the new partnership ADSS Vice Chairman and CEO Philippe Ghanem, said:
Our involvement in motorsport has been about identifying young talented drivers who have a passion for winning. With Louis we have been able to back his career for a number of years which we hope will culminate in him driving in F1. Now, as a partner of the Ferrari Driver Academy, we are delighted to be working with one of the most renowned and experienced organisations in the sport to give opportunities to young drivers around the world.
Louis’s ADSS branded car will be run by the experienced Charouz Racing System (CRS) team. Both CRS cars will carry the FDA livery with the second entry being driven by Antonio Fuoco. CRS is contesting its first season in FIA Formula 2 after taking the drivers and team titles in the World Series Formula V8 3.5 last year. As a new entrant to the FIA F2 championship it hopes to take advantage of the introduction of the new regulations for 2018. These include the use of the next generation single-make Formula 2 cars which will create a level playing field for all teams.
The continued relationship with ADSS has been beneficial for Louis:
Over the last few years I have spent a lot of time with ADS Securities and their clients, and I feel part of the company. As an investment firm their philosophy is all about anticipating challenges and opportunities for their clients and they are very passionate about this. Trading requires precision and it is about delivering results. All of this resonates with me as motor racing requires the same attitude and skills. We are a very strong team.
The first race of the season will take place at the Sakhir International Circuit in Bahrain on the 6-8th of April 2018. Eleven further FIA Formula 2 races will be held as the main support events to the official FIA Formula 1 world championship. ADSS said it wishes Louis, his CRS team and the FDA the best of luck for the season.
