Forex Sports Sponsorship… Following our exclusive report last week that big changes were afoot at retail FX and CFDs broker FxPro – CSO Vanessa Spyrou resigning, planned spreadbetting launch, Premier League shirt sponsor, Dubai FX office coming… – it was revealed over the weekend by Watford FC players modelling their soon-to-be-new uniforms that it will be FxPro emblazoning Watford FC shirts next season.
Watford striker Troy Deeney was pictured wearing the new jersey, which made its way to Twitter and eventually the Watford Observer.
The very visible shirt sponsorship, as we discussed in our earlier article referred to above, is part of FxPro’s UK expansion strategy, which will see the CySEC and FCA regulated broker soon unveil a new spread betting product aimed at the UK market.
FxPro will be replacing current Watford shirt sponsor 138.com, an Asia-focused sports betting website, which after four seasons will see its logo moved to players’ sleeves.
This marks something of a return for FxPro to Premier League sponsorship. FxPro had previously been a shirt sponsor of the Fulham and Aston Villa shirts clubs.
We’d also note that FxPro is not the first Forex Industry sponsor at Watford – prime broker Divisa Capital inked a sponsorship agreement with Watford FC last year.
