Today’s meeting of the Exchange Council of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange has informed the public that it has named Lutz Raettig its honorary chairman. Raettig is being recognised for his outstanding accomplishments to the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the financial centre of Frankfurt. He has been a member of the Exchange Council since 2001, and was chairman of the committee from 2002 to 2017. This is the first time the title has been conferred.

In his 15 years at the head of the Exchange Council, Lutz Raettig has made a major contribution to positioning the financial centre of Frankfurt internationally. The appointment as honorary chairman is an accolade to thank and honour Lutz Raettig for his decade-long commitment.

The title of honorary chairman can be bestowed through a resolution of the Exchange Council in consultation with the Hessian Exchange Supervisory Authority on current or former members who have made an outstanding contribution to the Frankfurt Stock Exchange or the financial centre of Frankfurt.
The Exchange Council is an important controlling and supervisory body of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, a public-law institution. Primary duties include appointing and monitoring the stock exchange management as well as issuing the exchange regulations, the fee scale and the terms and conditions for exchange transactions.
