New Divisa Capital UK CEO Brian Myers has brought on board another of his former lieutenants from GKFX, with the company naming Michael Ayres as Divisa UK’s new COO.
Michael Ayres had been Director of Operations at GKFX from October 2016 – March 2018, which basically matched Mr. Myers’ tenure as GKFX CEO. The two had actually worked together prior to GKFX, at Alpari UK, where Mr. Myers was Global Head of Sales form 2010-2014 and Mr. Ayres was a risk analyst and FX trader. (Mr. Myers made a brief stop as Executive Director at Oanda UK between his Alpari UK and GKFX stints).
Michael Ayres began his FX career at ODL Securities, moving to FXCM when ODL was acquired by the company.
Beyond bringing the two senior executives on board, Divisa clearly has big plans for its UK arm, with the company recently upgrading the FCA license of the entity to a full-scope ‘IFPRU €730k’ license. The group had been fairly active in the institutional FX space for several years, but more recently launched the Equiti.com brand to expand to the Retail brokerage business. Divisa / Equiti raised $100 million last year from a group of GCC investors led by Abdul Raouf Waleed Al Bitar, who now is the company’s controlling shareholder.
