The NZX Ltd (NZE:NZX) just announced the appointment of Joanna Lawn as Head of Listings, effective Monday 18 September 2017. Lawn will be based in NZX’s Auckland office.
Enhancing customer service and better promoting the benefits of listing is a core focus for NZX, and Joanna Lawn is well placed to lead the organisation’s listing team, with more than 20 years’ experience working in financial markets in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.
This new role will report to CEO Mark Peterson, and is responsible for developing commercial relationships with existing and prospective equity, debt and fund clients, creating increased awareness of NZX’s products and services, and will support the broader growth of New Zealand’s capital markets.
Joanna Lawn has a strong banking and corporate finance background. She was most recently at ANZ, where she held a number of senior roles in the Institutional Banking division, with responsibilities in New Zealand and overseas, including Head of Client Insights & Solutions and Head of Business Management for the International division. In these leadership roles, she has gained extensive experience in the areas of strategy, building strong client relationships, business process and performance, and transactional experience. Lawn brings to NZX an extensive understanding and connection to New Zealand’s capital markets landscape, which will complement the organisation’s increased focus on customer engagement and insights.
Prior to ANZ, Lawn held roles at Deutsche Bank in Australia and England, advising on M&A transactions and capital raisings for both public and private companies, and at Lazard Brothers & Co. Limited in its financial markets and corporate finance teams.
