Celsius Network, a borrowing and lending platform for cryptocurrencies, today announced that Samantha McDonald, CPA, has joined the company as CFO. McDonald has wide experience in the financial services and investment industries. She started her career at Deloitte as a senior accountant after graduating with a masters in accounting before moving on to become CFO and COO at Software Technology Inc., then later became CFO and VP of Finance at Roubini Global Economics.
McDonald was most recently the VP of Finance at Grayscale Investments, which is an investment authority on cryptocurrency, and was also the Treasurer and CFO at SPDR Long Dollar Gold Trust (GLDW) and SPDR Gold (GLD). GLD is an ETF that directly invests in physical gold and it manages assets worth $33 billion making it the largest such entity. McDonald was also a lecturer covering finance courses at the University of South Alabama.
McDonald commented:
