LeapRate has learned that longtime Saxo Bank executive Emmanouil Lemonakis has left the company to join corporate payment systems provider iBanFirst.
Mr. Lemonakis had been with Saxo Bank for more than 10 years. Since 2014 he was based in Cyprus and was responsible for Saxo Bank’s operations in the Central Europe and MENA regions, focused on private business operations with high net worth individuals and institutions including the Saxo bank offices in Cyprus, Athens, Prague, Warsaw, Istanbul, Moscow, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Mr. Lemonakis’ departure from Saxo Bank should not come as too much of a surprise. We had reported back in March about Saxo Bank’s plans to shut its Cyprus office, as part of an office consolidation and cost cutting efforts at the Copenhagen based multi asset broker.
Licensed by the Bank of Belgium as a Payment Institution, with a branch in France which is recognised by ACPR (French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority), iBanFirst launched in 2013 offering foreign exchange services to businesses and has handled more than €1 billion of transactions volume for over 1,000 clients to date.
