Fortytwo Data, the UK Anti-Money Laundering and Big Data firm, has just announced that it has opened its first overseas office in Ukraine.
The new location in the country’s capital, Kiev, is the first time the company has expanded beyond its headquarters in the City of London. The satellite office will be a base of operations for the development and testing of its AI screening systems.
After an extensive Europe-wide search, Fortytwo Data recognised that the strength of the Ukrainian tech scene and high quality of computer science and engineering candidates in Kiev made the city the perfect fit.
The Kiev-based team will be comprised entirely of local talent, who will be trained extensively on the Fortytwo Data model and the complexities of its approach. The Kiev office will continue to expand as the firm’s operations grow.
Ukraine has fast become a hotbed for tech expertise, with 18 companies operating in the country making it onto this year’s list of the best outsourced tech firms in the world, the Global Outsourcing 100, compiled by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals.
Julian Dixon, CEO of Fortytwo Data, commented:
It’s thrilling to be able to take our first step outside the City of London and plant a flag in one of Europe’s most up-and-coming tech scenes. Our expansion to Kiev reflects both our ongoing success and need for more hands on deck.
We considered a number of different locations for our new office but Kiev was by far the best fit. It has quickly become a tried and tested region for tech expertise and there is a large number of really high quality personnel who will greatly enhance what we are doing as a company.
The team in Ukraine will be focused purely on development, enabling our London office to continue exploring opportunities to expand the business and grow our client base in the knowledge that they now have the strongest possible technical support.
