Options Technology Introduces First Commercial Quantum Compute Platform for New York Markets

Options adds more APAC clients to its Managed Colocation service

Options Technology has launched what it describes as the first commercially accessible quantum computing capability for New York City’s capital markets, integrating early quantum systems into its global hybrid compute platform.

The system, deployed in a Digital Realty data centre, uses quantum hardware from Oxford Quantum Circuits and operates alongside high-performance CPU and GPU infrastructure.

The initiative is said to be designed to address increasingly complex compute demands across financial markets, particularly in areas such as portfolio optimisation and derivatives risk modelling.

Options believes quantum architectures are well-suited to probability-driven workloads that require large-scale simulation under constantly shifting market conditions, tasks that can strain classical systems.

The company is offering secure access through its existing low-latency infrastructure, which connects more than 70 data centres globally.

Danny Moore, president and chief executive of Options Technology, said quantum computing is “no longer theoretical for capital markets,” adding that the priority now is “controlled, secure access.”

Integrating quantum capabilities directly into production environments is expected to help firms experiment with and adopt the technology without disrupting current operations.

The launch comes as financial institutions increasingly explore hybrid compute strategies combining classical, accelerated and emerging technologies.
