Singapore-based Hedge Fund becomes early adopter of ULLINK’s new portfolio and performance management tool
ULLINK, a global provider of electronic trading and connectivity solutions to the financial community, announced the successful go-live of Village Capital with ULLINK’s new post-trade solution, XTRAIN. The solution extends Village Capital’s use of ULLINK’s buy-side Execution Management System (EMS), XILIX, to deliver a platform to support post-trade processes including trade reconciliation, reporting and performance data management.
Founded in 2005, Village Capital is a Singapore-based asset management company investing mainly in Japanese equity and managing a variety of funds with investment strategies including equity long-short and small-mid cap equity with a long bias. As a user of ULLINK’s XILIX EMS since 2014, Village Capital turned to ULLINK to further assist with optimization of its mainly manual post-trade processes to increase efficiency and reduce potential for human error and dependency. The firm is one of ULLINK’s first customers to deploy the new XTRAIN post-trade processing component of the XILIX suite.
XTRAIN is a cloud-delivered solution designed to support buy-side post-trade processes immediately following the execution of a trade. It consists of three essential modules focusing on Matching, Portfolio analytics and Reporting. The solution integrates natively with XILIX, but can also be delivered stand-alone to integrate with other vendor and proprietary EMS and Order Management System (OMS) solutions.
Speaking of the deployment, Ichiro Takamatsu, Chief Investment Officer of Village Capital, said:
A major goal for this project was to reduce our reliance on manual operations to improve the timeliness and accuracy of portfolio performance data, and ensure our investment managers can make accurate investment decisions based on portfolio position data. With XTRAIN, we have achieved this goal and further streamlined processes around trade matching and reporting and further improved our back office productivity.
ULLINK’s Chief Product Officer, Richard Bentley, added:
We are delighted to extend our partnership with Village Capital by supporting their post-trade workflows with XTRAIN. We have designed XTRAIN following extensive feedback from customers asking for a more lightweight, easily-delivered solution to streamline a range of post-trade activities which can integrate closely with their existing front-office and back-office solutions. The solution allows customers like Village Capital to focus on their core business of managing client investments and spend less time on non-core operational requirements.
