The research company focused on the financial services sector, Autonomous Research, has announced that Alexey (Lex) Sokolin has joined the group as Partner and Global Head of Fintech Strategy. Drawing on his experience as an innovator, speaker and Fintech entrepreneur, Lex will deepen the firm’s expertise in emerging technology and spearhead its mission to advise clients on the future of finance.
Lex joins Autonomous from Vanare, a digital wealth management platform where he served as Chief Operating Officer. Previously, he founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of roboadvisor NestEgg Wealth, acquired by Vanare. He has been an investment banker at Deutsche Bank and a corporate strategist at Barclays Wealth/Lehman Brothers. Lex holds a B.A. from Amherst College, and a JD/MBA from Columbia University.
Lex, referred to widely as a “financial futurist,” has been active in the venture community and has advised start-ups on growth and market strategy. He was recently named to the InvestmentNews “40 under 40” list of industry leaders and is one of ThinkAdvisor’s IA25 influencers.
