Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) has earlier today updated its lists of businesses that are not authorized to target Japanese investors but nevertheless do so.
The latest business to get a warning for providing investment services in Japan without registration is Cheshire Capital Ltd, operating as TR Binary Options.
The binary options broker offers its services to Japanese investors via https://www.trbinaryoptions.com/ja/. Although the company claims to be registered overseas (in the United Kingdom), the fact that it provides financial instruments services online to Japanese clientele is considered a form of targeting of Japanese investors and, hence, requires permission from the Japanese authorities. As TR Binary Options lack such authorization, it made it to the Warning List.
The Japanese regulator notes that TR Binary Options is associated with Marblestone Partners Ltd, a company that got a warning in Japan in October 2015.
