It was just officially announced that on June 25, 2016, Mr. Liu Shiyu, Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and Mr. Sergey Shvetsov, First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding cooperation on financial and capital markets in Beijing.
This MOU substitutes the MOU between China Securities Regulatory Commission and the now dissolved Federal Financial Market Service concluded on August 8, 2008.
The MOU signed between the two regulators will enhance exchanges of views and cooperation in the field of securities and futures supervision, promote sound development of capital markets in both countries, and ramp up the cooperation between the two regulators into a new phase.
CSRC has been actively involved in regulatory information exchange and cross-border enforcement cooperation with its overseas counterparts since its establishment in October 1992. So far, CSRC has signed 63 MOUs with securities and/or futures regulators from 58 countries or regions.
