Tom Higgins, CEO of Gold-i, the global market leader in trading systems integration, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Great British Entrepreneur Awards. He is one of six entrepreneurs nationwide to be selected as a finalist for the Financial Services Entrepreneur of the Year category.
The Great British Entrepreneur Awards, in association with NatWest, have become the recognized standard of excellence amongst entrepreneurs. They were created to celebrate the achievements of inspiring entrepreneurs – people who forge innovation, disrupt tired markets, foster positive change and are the engine room of the UK economy.
Simon Burton, founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, said: “The entries we have received for the Great British Entrepreneur Awards can only be described as awe inspiring. The quality has been outstanding. The judges have had the extremely difficult task of whittling the great and good of the entrepreneurial community down to the very best and we are delighted by the companies that have made the shortlist.”
Tom Higgins set up Gold-i in 2008 and has transformed the global retail FX and CFD trading market by developing a suite of products which give retail brokers the same execution and risk management tools as institutional brokers, at a fraction of the cost.
He has been shortlisted for his achievements over the last six years, from spotting a gap in the retail FX market to growing Gold-i into the global market leader in trading systems integration, with clients based in every continent. Tom has created a company with strong values and a loyal team, renowned throughout the industry for its innovative products, focus on integrity and high levels of customer service.
Tom Higgins adds, “I am thrilled to be selected as a finalist for a Great British Entrepreneur Award. Gold-i is a very niche financial technology company and it is an amazing achievement to gain national recognition as an entrepreneur in the dynamic financial services sector. The judges were impressed by the company’s performance to date as well as our future growth potential.”
2014 has been a successful year for Tom Higgins, who was invited to Buckingham Palace in July to celebrate Gold-i being awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise. Over the last year, Tom has also won two personal awards in recognition of his leadership skills – Toast of Surrey Director of the Year Award and the Vistage Leadership Award for Innovation.
The winners of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards will be announced at a ceremony on November 19th at Old Billingsgate in Central London. For further information, click here. For further information about Gold-i, click here.
