Hotspot FX January volumes – still depressed

In line with what we have seen at other Forex ECNs such as ICAP (EBS), Hotspot FX (a Knight Capital Group company) reported very slow January FX volumes at just $49 billion per day, down 12% from $56 billion last January, although higher than (traditionally-slow) December last year’s figure of $38 billion. Other than December, in every other month of 2011 Hotspot FX saw volumes above $50 billion per day.
