KCG Hotspot’s August Forex volumes come in at $28 billion per day, down just 2% from July.
As compared to an 8% month-on-month volume decline in August at the other Forex ECNs (Thomson Reuters, FXall, and ICAP’s EBS), KCG Hotspot reported August average daily volumes of $28.0 billion — down just 2% from July.
We should also note that Hotspot’s volumes are fully 33% above last year’s levels, as per the chart below.
Following the merger of Knight Capital and Getco, the renamed KCG has been busy rebranding its businesses under the KCG label. As such, Hotspot FX is now known as KCG Hotspot. Interestingly, KCG did not make any specific press release nor mention of the name and branding change, it just started using the new name.
