Currency strategists Kathy Lien and Boris Schlossberg, most recently co-heads of FX research for GFT, are leaving GFT to begin managing funds for clients. The pair, who worked together at FXCM before joining GFT, have been separately running BK Forex Advisors for several years as an FX signal provider. After receiving regulatory approval, expected by summertime, spinoff BK Asset Management will begin managing funds for clients, based mainly on FX-related strategies.
As we wrote earlier, there has been a major shift lately by large FX traders (pension funds, corporations, endowment funds…) to leave their relationship banks and look to expert firms in dealing with FX issues. Kathy and Boris’ new firm should fit nicely into that trend.
