Ladbrokes PLC (LON:LAD) today announced key appointments to its Board Committees, with Sly Bailey named a member of the Social Responsibility Committee and David Martin appointed as a member of the Audit Committee.
Both appointments are effective September 25, 2015.
Ms Bailey was appointed a non-executive director of Ladbrokes in 2009. She has been a non-executive director of Greencore Group plc since May 2013. Until 2012, she was Chief Executive of Trinity Mirror plc and a non-executive director and Chairman of the remuneration committee of the Press Association.
From 1989 to 2003, she held senior positions with IPC Media Limited including Chief Executive from 1999. Prior to that, she was senior independent director and remuneration committee Chairman of EMI plc and a non-executive director of Littlewoods Plc. Until 2014 she was President of NewstrAid.
Mr Martin was named a non-executive director of Ladbrokes’ on October 31, 2013. He has been Chief Executive of Arriva plc since 2006, having been Deputy Chief Executive and Group Managing Director of International from 2005. He joined Arriva in 1996, becoming a Board member in 1998. Prior to that, he held various senior financial positions, including Financial Director of Holyhead Group.
The appointments to Ladbrokes’ Board Committees come just a day after Darren Shapland officially retired from the Board after six years in the role of a non-executive director, five of which he was Chair of the Audit Committee.
