Last week we saw more volumes come in for April, and it looks like the usual spring slow down is upon us as April failed to eclipse March volume wise. However, it ended up being a good first quarter financially for many venues dealing in the FX sector, Moscow Exchange reported record revenue in the exchange’s brief history. The two USA retail giants FXCM and Gain Capital appear to be trending in opposite directions, with Gain volumes getting a jump due to their incorporation and full inclusion of City Index within it’s calculations. We also heard direct from sources refuting a Reuters report which linked IronFX and AvaTrade to a rumored takeover by Teddy Sagi’s PlayTech organization.
