The leading European Regulatory Consulting and Assurance Group, MAP S.Platis, has officially announced the appointment of Mr. Demetris Taxitaris, FCA as Group General Manager. The appointment is effective from March 1, 2015.
Mr Taxitaris joints the ranks of a major regulatory consultant for the Forex and binary options sector in Cyprus. The Group is composed of 6 member firms, maintains 4 offices in Cyprus and a global network of associates, employing more than 90 people.

Demetris Taxitaris is a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (‘ICPAC’), a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (‘CIFA’), Chairman of the Board of Teachers Cooperative Credit Institution and Chairman of Symmetria F.S. Ltd, a Cyprus-based financial advisory, research and analysis firm. Between 2011 and 2013, he served as a member of the Corporate Reporting Standing Committee’s Consultative Working Group of the European Securities and Markets Authority (‘ESMA’).
Mr Taxitaris worked at Bank of Cyprus Group in Nicosia from 2001, being involved in the construction and management of the leading asset management and advisory unit in Cyprus, from which he resigned as Head, Asset Management in August 2013 to found Symmetria F.S. Ltd. Prior to that, Demetris worked at Deloitte in London where he qualified as an Associate Chartered Accountant, becoming a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW). For a number of years, he has been an instructor in courses for the European regulatory framework for investments, covering fields such as MiFID, UCITS, AIFMD, Market Abuse and Transparency.
Mr Taxitaris holds a BSc. Mathematics with Statistics from Imperial College (First Class Honours) and a MSc. Mathematical Trading and Finance from City University in London (Distinction).
