Monex Group, Inc. (TYO:8698) has earlier today posted its preliminary financial metrics for the third quarter of its fiscal year to the end of March 2016, with numbers pointing to a loss for the three-month period and to a quarter-on-quarter drop in revenues.
Total operating revenues for the quarter to December 31, 2015 amounted to ¥12.93 billion ($109.2 million), down 12.5% from the revenues of ¥14.77 billion registered in the second quarter of the fiscal year. Let’s note that revenues in December were pretty much unchanged from November levels and amounted to ¥4.37 billion.
Monex incurred a net loss (attributable to owners of the company) of ¥399 million, a result which compares with a profit of ¥1.82 billion for the second quarter of the fiscal year.
Pre-tax loss for the period was ¥690 million.
As the results are preliminary, the company is not providing any details regarding the reasons for the decline in revenues and the losses. Also, the numbers may be changed in the final report.
