Today the futures market of the Moscow Exchange started trading in futures contracts on currency pairs “US dollar – Canadian dollar” and “US Dollar – Turkish Lira”.
Quotes for the new instruments are supported from the official market maker – AKB Metallinvestbank. On the first day of trading, participants are able to execute on contracts starting for June 2015. The size of the minimum initial margin is 4% for futures on “US dollar – Canadian dollar” and 7% – for the futures for “USD – Turkish Lira”.
The Moscow Exchange currency segment is one of the most liquid and dynamically developing segments of the Russian market of derivative financial instruments. Recent statistics from the exchange show that of all types of contracts on the futures market, currency instruments in the total turnover makeup 55% of the total.
