The company has acknowledged that they have experienced ISP related issues via their Twitter feed
One of the oldest and biggest brokerages in the online forex world, Oanda, has experienced a massive disruption in its services for a couple of hours during the late European afternoon. The outage affected the company’s global operations through their .com, .co.uk and .sg subdivisions. As of writing their service and website have resumed normal operations. From what we can see on the company’s Twitter feed, the outage lasted for about an hour and a half.
Oanda’s live help support team was available to chat with through a separate online platform, however not much details were provided to their customers, as their team was investigating the issue. According to their Twitter account, the issue was related to Oanda’s network service provider. The company has not yet issued an official press release as customer complaints keep piling up. All of the company’s platforms were affected including fxTrade, their MT4 solution and their website and mobile services.
What can we say, apparently nobody is protected from technical difficulties, even one of the first online forex brokers that revamped the whole industry at the time. Stay tuned to LeapRate as the story unfolds and we are awaiting the official press release from Oanda.
