Amid a widening regulatory probe into currency trading, State Street has asked its foreign exchange trading chief to stay away from the office, Dow Jones reported, citing unnamed sources.
Simon Pepper, the London-based head of FX spot trading, has been away from the U.K. office for the past two weeks, sources told the publication. A spokeswoman for the bank confirmed Pepper’s absence, but declined to provide further information.
A worldwide probe into FX trading is underway, and has claimed the scalps of about 30 staff members at nearly 12 banks.
