The list of investor warnings issued by Spain’s securities markets watchdog CNMV keeps growing, with the latest addition being IBA Markets (International Brokers Association Markets).
The company, operating via ibamarkets.com, is offering a variety of FX services. The website claims that the company has started its registration process with the Federal Financial Markets Service (Russia) and Germany’s Bafin. It is worth noting that the Federal Financial Markets Service is not the body responsible for the regulation of Forex companies in Russia – the actual regulator is the Russian central bank.
Regarding the EU regulatory status of IBA Markets, the warning from the CNMV is clear enough – IBA Markets is not authorized to offer investment services, including Forex, in Spain.
The warning against IBA Markets is issued a week after the Spanish watchdog warned against another unregistered FX firm – BelforFX.
