Swissquote Group Holding SA (SWX:SQN), the leading online brokerage and banking firm in Switzerland, has announced the launch of MT4 WebTrader, which the company says is a significant upgrade to that of the previous web platform offered by Swissquote.
Developed by MetaQuotes using the latest HTML5 programming, the MT4 WebTrader platform does not require a download and can be accessed from any browser. With functions such as one-click trading, price histories, and active orders, and with data security guaranteed by encryption, MT4 WebTrader has nearly identical functionality to the downloadable MT4 client.
Users who have previously used the MetaTrader 4 Trading Platform will be able to navigate around the web version very easily: MT4 WebTrader has an almost-identical user interface.
Swissquote joins a growing trend of brokers running the popular MT4 platform to also provide their clients with the web version. (We’ve recently reported on similar moves by AxiTrader and EXNESS). A good portion of the reason for the growing interest and use of webtraders is, in one word: mobile. With increasing numbers of traders engaging in trading via smartphone and tablet devices, brokers are looking to provide platforms which look and run identically across all devices.
