After five and a half years at OANDA’s Asia Pacific operation, Tracy Simone Tan assumes senior directorship position
OANDA has promoted Tracy Simone Tan to Director of Business Operations for the Asia Pacific region.
This particular promotion to senior management represents a significant progression in Ms. Tan’s career, an industry professional who has held a series of leadership positions at OANDA’s Asia Pacific operations.
Having joined the company from Bloomberg in Singapore, Ms. Tan assumed the role of Compliance Manager at OANDA in 2008, progressing to Head of Customer Service one year later.
After a tenure of almost three years in that position, Ms. Tan was promoted to General Manager and Head of Projects, subsequently becoming Human Resource Manager for the Canadian FX firm’s Singapore operation.
Following a stint as Head of Projects, Ms. Tan’s appointment as Director of Business Operations this month puts her in control of OANDA Asia Pacific’s corporate IT and infrastructure, strategic project management, human resource and recruitment procedure, business intelligence and analytics as well as business development and partnerships.
In a region which is synonymous with large trading desks and a well-organized financial markets economy, Ms. Tan’s remit is extensive and stands her in good stead to ensure that the Canadian firm maintains its position in Asia, a region which is widely considered the number one destination from which FX companies can attract business.
